Proof That God Exists

Let's look at what the Bible says regarding those who argue that God does not exist.

Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him [God] from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

So exactly who is it that needs proof of God's existence? Nobody. Absolutely no one.

God has already proven his existence by the things that he made.  And these visible things speak of an invisible God.

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

This verse proclaims, not if the unbeliever knew God, but when they knew God.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

Athiests/agnostics believe themselves to be wise. But, like someone who says they don't believe in words, they became fools.

For a believer, nothing is quite as sobering as an exchange with a an athiest/agnostic who's determined to walk over a cliff.

Warning them that their choice will only bring certain death sometimes only seems to prompt their wrath and indignation.

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.
Psalm 14:1 and Psalm 53:1

Only a fool takes this stand.  According to Proverbs 26:4-5, there are only two outcomes when you are dealing with a fool.

Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him. Proverbs 26:4

and

Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit. Proverbs 26:5

This pair of verses are not contradicting one another. They are an illustration of one clear fact: answering a fool or not answering a fool produces the same result: the fool remains a fool!

Only a fool would view a Renoir painting and say there was no painter.

Only a fool would look up at a sky scraper and say there was no builder.

Only a fool would see a chocolate cake sitting on a table and say it just grew out of the table.

Only a fool, when looking at two choices for man's origin - we came from rocks or we were created by a supremely intelligent God, would say it must have been rocks.

Only a fool who views any masterpiece of creation and says it's the result of some random chance explosion millions of years ago. Even though the thing literally drips with extraordinary complexity, detail, design and instinct.

Bird of Paradise

This fool joins others fools and makes a conscious decision to pretend there is no God.

From what I read in Romans 1:20, God holds all men accountable to the knowledge of him and boldly proclaims that they are without excuse.

In other words, nothing will excuse them on the day of judgment.  Not one person will stand before him and get away with saying they didn't know him all along. What a frightening thought!

With that in mind, lets look at the terminology that unbelievers use for themselves and see where they fit in the picture.

Agnostics say that they "don't know" if there is a God. "A" means no or without. Gnostic means knowledge.

The term A-theist literally means "no God".  Saying there is no God requires absolute knowledge.

The atheists claim is similar to someone claiming there are no diamonds in Switzerland. To prove such a thing, would require absolute knowledge. They'd have to search every square inch of that country in order to substantiate the statement. This includes every person, every pocket, every home, and every possible place where a diamond could exist. Such an enormous undertaking would be impossible. But, it is the only means to prove such a statement.

So what are we left with?  The reality is that the claim of agnosticism is impossible because the Bible indicts ALL men with the knowledge of God, and the claim of atheism reveals itself to not actually have any scientific reasoning whatsoever. It is simply a religion or belief.

Most of us have played "make believe" or pretend during childhood.  For athiests and agnostics, it is like they are playing this game all over again, only as adults. They are like children who hide in a corner, cover their eyes and pretend that they are now invisible. Only this time, the consequences are horrifying and eternal.

Dear reader, if you are one who has taken the position to hide your eyes from the truth, I urge you to simply turn to God for forgiveness.  He is merciful and ready to receive all who come to him in child like faith.

Revelation 21:8 - But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

More Than a Sparrow

Spring reminds me of regeneration and new growth.  It comes only once a year in nature, but for born again believers, spring is happening on a daily basis because the Lord Jesus Christ shows us new mercy each and every morning.

This wonderful truth comforts the heart of everyone who's been washed in the blood. The Lord cares deeply for us! He's aware of every heartache and burden that we bear and beckons us to lay them at his feet and trust him.

To illustrate how we are to trust in him, he draws our attention to the birds of the air.

Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Matthew 6:26 -

The birds don't plow 40 acres, or shuck corn. They don't reap or sow, but God feeds them. How much more valuable are we to the Lord?

Birds are what the Lord chose to use to encourage us in child like faith. We must come as little children, trusting the Lord just as a child.

And [Jesus] said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.  ~ Matt 18:3

This beautiful nest was found by our sons in 2009. It was carefully  constructed by a mama and papa pair of Robins in a sturdy corner on the underside of our two-story deck.  Isn't the circular construction a marvel! And the eggs? Turquoise perfection.

Soon, my sons came running inside to tell me of the new life they found! One of the three eggs in the nest was freshly hatched. They were beyond excited!

The next day, another egg had hatched.  Their eyes look disproportionately gigantic and their little bodies look so frail.

The next day, three eggs were hatched!  Notice how their lovely blue shells were tidily taken away by their parents?

At this point, the mama and papa were fiercely guarding this nest.  Any time we got close to it, they would dive bomb us.  The boys felt like they were risking their lives to snatch the next few pictures!  Which only made for a more exciting adventure for them.

Such gaping little mouths! In this picture, the fourth egg is missing. We don't know if the parents disposed of it or if it was stolen by a squirrel or other critter.

Here they are a little older but still fully dependent on their parents, whom they cannot even see, to feed them.

This one seems to want just more bite, please!  Their plumage is becoming visible.

Here they were quieted down for a nap.

A week later, their plumage was already coming in.  It was fascinating to observe the watchful care of the mother and father of this brood.

While one would go and find food, the other would perch itself on a tree with the nest in full view.  If anyone came near the nest, look out!  :)  In a couple more weeks, the baby robins were ready to test their wings and fly.  Once they knew how fly, they never returned to the nest.

God desires that we come to him in faith as little children. Children don't have worldly wisdom.  Just pure, childlike innocence and faith.  The bible says without faith it's impossible to  please God.

As we grow, we become strengthened and nourished in our faith and God expects us to try our wings.  He will catch us when we fall, too.

Aren't you so thankful to have a heavenly father watching and caring for you?  I am!  We are worth much more than sparrows.

Salt

Salt gets a bad wrap from most people. And do you know why? Bad information. I think it is criminal of doctors to misinform the masses with their faulty research. It is a sordid, messy affair, the medical industry. There are some decent docs out there I'm sure. But so many are wooed by the dollar. They have so much time and student loans invested in their career that they actually steer people clear of natural solutions because there's no money in it for them.

They will sell people on the idea that their cholesterol is too high, yet studies reveal they have no proof that high cholesterol is the real culprit in someone's poor health. They will put them on statin drugs, tell them to eat less fat and stay away from salt.

But salt is essential to good health. People who put their hopes in medical doctors often end up worse off. And it breaks my heart to see that, especially when it's a close relative.

This is the brand of sea salt that tops most people's salt list.  It's  extremely healthful and nourishing to human cells.  It comes in fine or course ground.

I buy the course ground and just put it in a pepper grinder to grind it fresh.

The fine ground is more expensive because the grinding work is done for you.  Which makes it more convenient, but not more economical.  So, if you're watching your budge, course ground makes sense.

For a while I was stumped with just how to get this stuff ground fine and therefore useable.  I tried my little mortar and pestle and it was a slow process.

Then I stumbled upon a fantastic idea to grind a lot of salt all at once with equipment I already own!

All you need is a good sturdy rolling pin and cutting board.

Put a pile of course salt on the cutting board and begin to slowly roll over it.  You really have to give it quite a bit of elbow grease, but the result is so worth it!

When I'm finished, I store the freshly ground it in a small crock with a lid and the rest of the course ground in a plastic food container.  I also use a food scraper to get the salt from board to bowl.

You might say that this is a lot of work just for some salt.  But it is worth it when you understand how many minerals and trace elements are in this kind of salt and how devoid normal table salt is.  Celtic sea salt is chock full of these essentials and not only that but it makes food taste better than you'd think. :)

All Things Salty Are Not the Same

Normal table salt is an isolated compound and when you ingest it, your body immediately begins to compensate for the missing elements by dragging them from other parts of your body.  Those other parts of your body need those minerals so this is a dangerous and unhealthy process that you want to avoid.

God intended for salt to pal around with other specific minerals and trace elements. That is why processed table salt is bad for you, but sea salt (especially Celtic or Himilayan sea salts) is good for you.

When minerals are missing from our diet, our health pays a very high price.  I love me some Celtic sea salt and I'm loving what it's doing for my health.
