Why Homeschool?

When my parents decided in the 1970s to homeschool me and my siblings, homeschooling was illegal in every state.  I am glad that their concern for us and our well being was more important than the rules of man.

Governments want our children. That's a fact.  Don't believe me?  Read "None Dare Call it Education". It will turn your stomach when you realize how dumb you've been.  Or rather, how dumb the government would like you to remain.  This is one issue where ignorance is definitely not bliss.  Get informed. Read up on this subject. Your children will never get another opportunity to have another childhood.  They are depending upon you to do right by them.

You'd have to live on a deserted island not to see the trash that the public schools are churning out of their programs.  And private schools don't churn out much better goods.  Contrary to what the Education Bureaus would like us to believe, the problem is not that they need more money because government schools are the Biggest Budget Buster of all time - coming in at an astounding 26% of government spending!

All that money and what is the result?  Are kids are getting smarter? Are "school kid crimes" decreasing?  Are families are getting stronger?  No, they are not.  That final one - the one about families - that's the most important one of all.  Families are weakening.  Divorce is now common. Children are shooting one another! Preadolescents are engaging in immoral behavior that would shock the average adult. Why? God is not allowed in their classrooms.

"It is when people forget God that tyrants forge their chains."
Patrick Henry

And parents are to blame, not the government.

"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."
Abraham Lincoln

The government has limited powers regardless of what many people think (and what the government would like us all to think).  The people are in a much stronger position and always have been. This reality was present in the days of Moses when Pharaoh realized that the Hebrews outnumbered the Egyptians many times over.  They feared the Hebrews might one day overthrow their authority and so they oppressed them and afflicted them even harder. (Exodus 1:1-22)

"Education is useless without the Bible."
Noah Webster

Homeschooling is on the uprise and our government continues to try subtle ways to undermine it and gain control.  Why?  Why should the government want our children?  That answer should be obvious.  If they can get them when they are young, they will have their future loyalty.

The real purpose of modern schooling was announced by the legendary sociologist Edward Roth in his manifesto of 1906 called SOCIAL CONTROL. Your librarian will easily be able to get a copy of this book. In it Roth wrote, (I am quoting) "plans are underway to replace family, community and church with propaganda, mass-media and education (of course he meant schooling)...people are only little plastic lumps of dough". Another insider, H. H. Cadard, chairman for the Psychology Department at Princeton, called government schooling approvingly -- "the perfect organization of the hive with the anthill". Cadard wrote further, "standardized testing would cause the lower classes to confront their biological inferiority, sort of like wearing a dunce cap. In time that would discourage reproduction of the ants on the anthill".

Homeschooling is more than just an educational choice, friend. Our government is well aware of that. It is a choice of who will get our child's soul; a spiritual battle for the souls of children. You are fooling yourself if you think that you can send your children away to a facility and their loyalties remain in tact.
The point is this: if your children are getting 8 hours of the world every day and only 2 hours of you, who do you think they will choose?

The odds are stacked against you.
Take thoughtful action.

Wow! I think I might check out that book! My children are 3 and 1, and I'm pregnant again, (I know, we're crazy:-) and I have had a strong desire to homeschool someday, however my husband is uncertain. I have really appreciated all your posts on this subject, (I've read em all!) so informative! I think God may have brought your blog into my life because I have been learning a lot! Infact, you inspired me to start cooking healthy breakfasts, ever since your post about the ten ways to love your children. We've been on a spinach smoothie and cheesy scrambled egg kick. Yum!

I'm so excited that you are desiring to homeschool your children. Praise God! Pray that God would cause your husband to support you. He can do more than we ask or think! And congratulations on baby #3. You're not crazy - children are the most precious gift from God second only to his son Jesus Christ. God bless you!
